Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is a 30% tax credit provided by the federal government to you when you install a solar system on your home. For example, if your solar system costs $18,000, 30% of that amount, $5,400 dollars will be deducted from your tax liabilities.
Net Energy Metering
Net Energy Metering (NEM) allows you to generate your own electricity through the solar system on your roof to serve your energy needs directly on site and receive credits for the amount that is not consumed immediately. In other words, the surplus energy produced by the system which is not consumed on spot, goes to the grid. At night or in a cloudy weather when the solar panels don’t produce, you can receive back the credited electricity from the grid that was produced by your solar system.
